The Spanish chef will be here for two days to host an unforgettable seven-course dinner at La Ventana.

Stop what you’re doing now and book a table fast at La Ventana for its two-night dinner hosted by chef-owner Carles Gaig. The renowned Spanish chef, who also helms Michelin-starred Restaurant Gaig (opened since 1869), Porta Gaig and Fonda Gaig in Barcelona, is flying to our island nation to whip up Catalan specialities in his seven-course menu.

Here’s how the dinner experience will go:

First, he’ll tease your tastebuds with the jamon iberico, its saltiness complemented by the sundried tomatoes and cristal bread. Once they’ve been piqued, he’ll introduce heavier flavours with his foie gras cookie on pastry and apple; spinach and truffle salad; and truffle ravioli.

Catalan meals aren’t complete without meat, and Gaig will present two types: Dover sole fish, with a natural sweetness balanced by the earthy truffle shavings, and the pluma iberica accented with pepper sauce.

He’ll end the meal with the sweet and tangy yuzu pie topped with yoghurt ice cream and Italian meringue.

Dinner with Carles Caig menu is on 7 and 8 February, 7pm onwards. Call 6479 0100 or email reservation.laventana@gmail.com for reservations.
