The eight-week-long event held at Terminals 1 to 4 features exclusive whiskies and cocktail making sessions

DFS Group has announced that they’re closing their stores at Changi Airport in June 2020. So if you’re travelling anytime between now and October 31, bid them a proper adieu and partake in the second—and last—edition of the Cocktail Festival at Terminals 1, 2, 3 and 4.

First introduced in 2016, it was revived this year as DFS Group’s general manager Prashant Mahboobani confirmed that “Singapore has really made its mark as the cocktail capital of the world, and we look forward to showing our travellers innovative ways to elevate their cocktail cabinet and experience at home with signature cocktail recipes and a range of exhilarating new products on offer”.

These include Santa Teresa 1796 Rum, Ketel One Botanical and Copper Dog Whisky. Of course, there are exclusive ones too, like Marylebone Gin, a Travel Retail Asia First; Legent Bourbon, an Asia First; and Sipsmith Raffles 1915 Gin, only available at Changi Airport.

Not only will you get to sample these at the boutiques, but you’ll also learn simple recipes through cocktail making sessions. Bartenders will be on hand to teach you the craft in three easy steps—choosing a base, mixer and garnish—so you can easily replicate the drinks at home with your purchased bottles. And when you spend a certain amount, you’ll even get to bring home a beginner’s cocktail kit which includes an iridescent shaker, jigger and spoon.

If it’s too much of a hassle lugging your purchase before the flight, you have the option of shopping online at iShopChangi.com. Do so 12 hours to 30 days before your flight, and upon your return, you can easily collect the bottles at the arrival hall or have them delivered right at your doorstep.
