Don't blink or you'll miss it. This handsome cocktail bar is set to be one of the city's best kept secrets.

If a trip to the legendary Y&M Kisling in Tokyo has left you yearning for a Ginza-style bar experience right here in Singapore, simply head to D.Bespoke, the latest cocktail bar to open on Bukit Pasoh Road. It's easy to miss the entrance as the nondescript door is perpetually shut. But here are some clues: look out for a green bicycle (belonging to the head bartender) chained to the window grilles, or simply head to where Magma German Wine Bistro used to be. Ring the buzzer and someone will let you in (thankfully, there are no passwords to grapple with here).

Everything about the bar is immaculate. Suave leather seats, a grand 15-metre long teak wood bar, and exquisite custom-made Kimura glassware barely begin to splice the surface of this exceedingly handsome man cave. While a barkeep is tasked to take your orders, only the sharp-suited head bartender Daiki Kanetaka has the mandate to shake up your drinks. Watching him in action is not unlike watching Bill Evans in concert. There is clarity, precision, and presence. Unlike other bespoke cocktail bars, the drinks here don't come with bells and whistles the likes of passionfruit turned belly-up and set aflame. Kanetaka does away with the theatrics, focusing instead on turning out masterfully balanced cocktails.

Beyond cocktails, the bar carries an impressive range of sherry, calvados, and armagnac. Kanetaka, a certified venenciador (the sherry equivalent of a sommelier), is well placed to recommend pours from over 50 bottles of sherry. Sherry tasting flights starting from $25 are available, too.

Complimentary bar snacks include dried fruit and nuts. If you're lucky, you might find dried mikan on your plate. If you're feeling peckish, order up the cold cut platter or cheese platter.

As Kanetaka is quite the jazz aficionado himself, jazz fans will take to the modern Japanese jazz records playing in the bar.
