TATLER FOCUS

A celebration is never complete without great drinks and for T.Dining by Singapore Tatler's biggest event of the year, we choose Sterling Vineyards.

There are so many things to consider in planning an event such as the T.Dining Singapore Best Restaurants 2017/18 awards—venue, food, company, and like the glue that binds them all together—wines.

So naturally, it was an easy decision for us to partner with Napa Valley, Californian winemaker Sterling Vineyards, a new power player in the Singapore market whose wines have consistently achieved high ratings in wine publications worldwide, and is the official wine of the Emmy’s.

Our T.Dining event was held on November 20, 2017, at the JW Marriott Hotel Singapore South Beach grand ballroom, and Sterling Vineyards brought the glitz and the glamour for a celebration of this calibre, starting with a stunning wine tower that immediately greeted guests including Singapore’s top chefs, gourmands and society friends upon entrance.

The silver flutes gave the night a touch of class and elegance

The pièce de résistance was arguably the most Instagrammed decor of the night—and many stopped in front of it for the perfect Insta-worthy shot. Says Audrey Mico, “I really liked the wine tower and how it attracted our attention right away. It’s a wonderful idea to place it in front.”

Our guests were also presented with the light and refreshing Sterling Vintner’s Collection Sparkling. It was served in one-of-a-kind silver flutes which charmed everyone with their elegance and class—with just the right touch of playfulness, setting the joyous mood for the rest of the night.

The Sterling bar was busy all night, serving up its reds and whites

Much to our guests’ delight, that wasn’t the only tipple served. They also had their fill of robust reds and whites at the Sterling Vineyards’ dedicated bar offerings its renowned Vintner’s Collection. Dolly Cheong was a big fan of the pours, saying, “the sparkling (wine) was easy to drink and the white wine had a nice, rounded finish.” Audrey agrees, adding that sparkling was “fruity, bubbly and refreshing”.

Once everyone had settled down with drinks and bites in hand, Editor-In-Chief, Kissa Castañeda, and Content Director for Dining, Don Mendoza, gave their welcome speeches, where they introduced audiences to the re-branded T.Dining universe.

Special awards were also given to Nouri (Best New Restaurant), Odette (Best Service and Restaurant of the Year), Waku Ghin (Best Service), Willin Low (Local Champion),  The Dempsey Cookhouse & Bar (Best Interior Design). The Hall of Fame accolades went to Cassia, Jade, Jiang-Nan Chun and Oso Ristorante. Everyone received a T.Dining plaque, as well as a personalised bottle of Sterling Vineyards’ famed Sterling wine.

The night is bright with the industry's best chefs, gourmands and F&B elites gathered for the launch of the T.Dining Singapore Best Restaurants 2017/18 5
