The highly-anticipated collaboration between BTS and McDonald's will now launch in Singapore on June 21 and be available on delivery only

Attention BTS Army: stand back. The BTS x McDonald's collaboration will not be happening... yet.

Let's be honest, we were all counting down the days till we could get our hands on the exclusive McDonald's set meal with famous K-pop band, BTS.

Unfortunately, it looks like we will have to wait till June 21 after the recent announcement that the Singapore launch of the celebrity meal will be delayed by almost a month as a result of the spike in Covid-19 cases locally.

The BTS meal, which was supposed to be available for purchase on May 27, will now only launch on June 21 according to a Facebook post made by the fast food chain.

When they announced the collaboration, McDonald's said that Singapore was one of nearly 50 countries to get the celebrity meal on their local menus.

The last launch date among the 50 countries was supposed to be in Indonesia on June 25 and at the time of reporting, the launch dates in other countries remain unaffected.

The decision to delay the launch was made as Singapore entered Phase 2 (heightened alert) in order to curb a recent spike in community Covid-19 cases.

The meal, when it finally launches on Monday, will consist of crispy Chicken McNuggets, fries, a drink, as well as sweet chilli and cajun dipping sauces that have been inspired by recipes from McDonald's in South Korea.

The meal will also only be available on delivery according to MacDonalds.

Till then, it looks like we will just have to keep streaming their new song, Butter, and wait patiently for our nuggets and fries.
