If you still haven’t made any plans to toast to the man of the house, here are five ideas to save the day.

1. A steak and whisky pairing menu

Tatler Asia

Wolfgang Steakhouse
If a good steak and whisky are two of dad’s favourite things to savour, it's going to be hard for him to resist a special dinner at this new steakhouse—a four-course meal paired with some prized single malts from The Macallan.

The starter of beef barley soup comes with sweet and crisp 12 YO, while the crab cake is served with a slightly floral 15 YO. The highlight is undoubtedly the main—a choice of USDA prime ribeye (dry-aged in-house for 28 days), New York sirloin, or ribeye—which, when grilled, pairs well with the signature 18 YO. If he craves something sweet (other than you and mum), there's key lime pie to end the meal.

The whisky pairing menu is available for lunch and dinner on June 17.

2. A spa session followed by an exquisite Cantonese meal

Capella Singapore
Sentosa is a convenient escape in more ways than one. But this time, treat your dad to a pampering day at Capella Singapore. Book him a Gentleman’s Facial at Auriga spa, which entitles him to a 60-minute deep cleansing session followed by a head and shoulder massage. Or go all out with a Gentleman’s Massage, which comes with a 30-minute facial.

That should put him in a good place to enjoy a traditional Chinese fare at Cassia. Executive Chef Lee Hiu Ngai will make sure it’s worth the visit with a six-course menu comprising his greatest hits—from a double-boiled chicken soup accented with Maca and wolfberry, and baked king prawn dressed in melted cheese, to his baked Alaska plaice paired with barbecue sauce.

The spa session is available from June 17 to 21, while the six-course menu is available for lunch and dinner on June 16 and 17.

3. A whisky and barbecue feast

Kwee Zeen
There’s something for everyone at the King's Whiskey & BBQ Feast, which makes this restaurant the perfect venue to mark the occassion with the entire family. Dad can tuck into succulent meats—grilled steak, pork and lamb—served with his choice of side dishes.

What's more, Kwee Zeen's signature chocolate cigar is infused with whiskey, which he can enjoy with a flight of three whiskies. The rest of the family have plenty of options, too, starting at the seafood station heaving with freshly shucked oysters and meaty lobsters, and for the ultimate indulgence, caviar.

Be sure to check out the other stations for a serving of fine Italian and French cheeses and tomato-based pasta, among other delights cooked a la minute.

The King’s Whiskey & BBQ Feast is available for lunch on June 17.

4. An all-you-can eat fried chicken meal

The Bird Southern Table & Bar
The All-Can-Eat Lewellyn’s Fine Fried Chicken sounds like a great idea for a different kind of celebration. You and dad have five hours to tuck into the restaurant's signature fried chicken, which is brined for 27 hours in the owner’s original, 100-year-old recipe, before it’s deep-fried to a golden brown finish.

Hungry for more? Ask for the a la carte menu for additional orders of the Jambalaya, a spicy rice-based dish made flavourful with the lobster stock and seafood toppings, as well as the Muffuletta salad, just because you need some greens (and cheese) in your life.

The All-Can-Eat Lewellyn’s Fine Fried Chicken is available from 11am to 4pm on June 17.

5. A Sunday brunch with bottomless beer

Spice Brasserie
He may have his favourite beer but just because it's his special day, he can have all the pale ale, stout and lager he wants, as part of the restaurant's Sunday brunch menu.

Ice cold beer is always better with food, and there’s an array to choose from at the different sections. The carving station will definitely entice with the aroma of roasted leg of lamb, pork belly and steak. It’s also known for its Asian flavours, so tell dad to give the sweet and sour pork, Hainanese poached chicken and assam curry snapper fillet a go.

The Sunday brunch with freeflow beer for dad is available on June 17.
