Thailand is more than just a shopping destination. It’s also the land of sumptuous food such as Pad Thai, Tom Yum Soup and that sweet and addictive Mango Sticky Rice. Craving these dishes but don’t have time to fly all the way there? Not to worry, we have uncovered five of the finest Thai delights on our very own shores.
Sabai Fine Thai On The Bay
Located at the Custom’s House, which is just a stone’s throw away from the CBD area, Sabai Fine Thai On The Bay is always a popular destination for business lunches. It’s not surprising considering that it’s consistently listed as one of the best Thai restaurants in the country.
Helmed by Thai Chef Samlee, who continuously seeks perfection in her cooking, she ensures that each diner gets to experience what real Thai food is all about with dishes such as the Thai Stir-fried Noodles, Green Curry Chicken and Pineapple Fried Rice. Enjoy these in an intimate setting with the Marina Bay as your stunning backdrop.

Jim Thompson: A Thai Restaurant
A stalwart in Thai fine dining, Jim Thompson: A Thai Restaurant continues to impress us with over 80 Thai classic dishes, which have been tested and refined by chefs to cater to any discerning palate. On the menu are choices which include soups, salads, curry, mains, seafood, barbeque and desserts. There’s also an impressive selection of vegetarian dishes for those who don’t eat beef or pork.
Other than food, the restaurant also scores with its impressive interiors, which transport us to Thailand with its carefully chosen artifacts displayed throughout the restaurant.

Established in 1988, Thanying Restaurant has long been our go-to-restaurant for authentic Thai cuisine. And it doesn’t disappoint with its myriad of offerings such as fresh salads, curry dishes and wonderful desserts.
Adding to the restaurant’s charm is the somewhat dated but elegant decor, which makes you feel like you’re dining in an ancient palace. That’s the unforgettable experience that only Thanying Restaurant provides.

Long Chim by David Thompson
With the opening of Long Chim by David Thompson early this year, we finally got our wish of having a Thai restaurant at Marina Bay Sands. But it’s not just any run-of-the-mill restaurant, it’s by renowned chef David Thompson, who has made a name for himself for mastering the art of Thai cooking.
Showcasing his skill in the kitchen is a tantalising menu of Thai street food prepared with more contemporary flavours, some of which are the Green Curry with Wagyu Beef, Beef with Holy Basil, Pad Thai Sen Chan and Braised Lamb Beef Curry. Enjoy these in a vibrant setting which is modeled after the vibrant streets of Bangkok.

A great introduction to Thai cuisine for the uninitiated is Soi 60. While it still offers authentic dishes the country is famous for, the level of spiciness is subdued, so you can enjoy the dishes without searing your tongue.
Also worth going for are the impressive cocktails with a Thai flair, which the mixologists concoct superbly. Our top picks are the Thai-Pirinha, Thai-Phoon and Lemongrass Mojito, which are best paired with the dishes on the menu.
