Get ready to don your best green outfit, as the 11th edition of the St. Patrick’s Day Street Festival is rolling into town on 19 and 20March. Taking place along Boat Quay and Circular Road, the much-awaited Irish celebration has lined up a number of exciting activities, entertainment and gastronomic food to keep you busy all weekend.
Eat & Drink
Celebrate the flavours of Irish cuisine, and head over to the participating bars and restaurants that serve traditional Irish fare. Molly’s Malone is ready to dish out one its favourites, whiskey and bacon marmalade with soda bread, while Draft & Craft has created its own version of a classic St. Paddy’s Day dish, Shepherd’s Pie. For drinks, pop by RedDot Brewhouse for its famous Monster Green Lager or visit Southbridge and enjoy its Pat’s Martini or Irish Cola.
Live Music Performances
No Irish festival is complete without music; and the organisers have invited Irish-themed bands to provide that much-needed entertainment. Top performers taking the stages include indie favourites The Craic Horse, The Slings, The Disclaimers and Trad Collective.
Participate in the Activities
The St. Patrick’s Day Festival is all about family, with a number of activities for the young and old. Prepared just for the kids are the roving balloon sculpting and bouncy castle; while everyone can have fun at the hair braiding, nail and face painting and airbrush tattoo kiosks.
Join the Parade
The two-day festival ends with a loud St. Patrick’s Day Street Parade that anyone can join. A tradition since the festival started, the parade begins at Raffles Landing Site at 2.30pm and ends at UOB Plaza, with lots of surprises and activities to keep you entertained till you reach the end.
