Sparkling Legacy

When Girard-Perregaux launched the Cat’s Eye collection in 2004, it was one of the first women’s collections to place as much emphasis on aesthetics and mechanics. Its oval shape was exquisite, and it didn’t feature the ubiquitous quartz movement as seen in most women’s watches of that time.

 Top Cat

So well-regarded was this collection that it bagged the ladies’ watch prize that year at the Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève, the most prestigious award of the horological industry.

 Straight Up

Originally introduced as an oval, horizontal shape, the Cat’s Eye Majestic, launched earlier this year, is presented in an elongated form. This shape was used within the collection only once before, with the Cat’s Eye Tourbillon with Gold Bridge.

 Size Matters

How does the Cat’s Eye Majestic size up compared to the horizontal models? It is heftier at 34.72mm by 40mm compared to 35.44mm by 30.44mm, but no less elegant.

 Day or Night

Diamond-lavished bezel aside, the Cat’s Eye Majestic proves itself to be quite versatile with different iterations: in stainless steel; in stainless steel and pink gold; and lastly, in pink gold. They all come with black alligator straps or full metallic bracelets to match the case.

Lavish Finishing

The Cat’s Eye exhibits the highest echelon of artistry demonstrated by Girard‑Perregaux’s craftsmen. The dial of the Majestic comes to life with a sunray pattern for the pink gold version, and guilloche for the steel and bicolour iterations.

 Hard Rock

What’s the Cat’s Eye without the prerequisite diamonds? All numerals, except for the 6 and 12, and another version with the 3 and 9, are marked by diamond markers. The bezel features 60 sparklers totalling one carat.

 Steely Triumph

The timepiece features the in-house conceived and assembled calibre GP03300. Those who don’t like the hassle of winding their watches regularly will appreciate the fact that this automatic timepiece offers a power reserve of 46 hours.
