Chanel will present the latest version of its now iconic J12 watch at the next edition of Baselworld, which takes place in Basel, Switzerland from March 27 to April 3, 2014.

At first glance, the J12-365 appears to differ only slightly from previous versions of Chanel's prestigious ceramic watch (see our reviews of the J12 Chromatic and J12 White Phantom). In reality, however, Chanel has made a number of innovative changes to the timepiece and given it a more refined, feminine allure.

Still round and made of high-tech ceramic, the J12-365 maintains the defining characteristics of the original J12. However, the ceramic case – in black or white depending on the version – is now accented with steel or beige gold, a new shade of 18K gold obtained through an alloy developed by Chanel.

Another notable change is the size of the new J12, which has a 36.5mm diameter, down from 38mm on previous versions. This subtle change gives the watch a daintier, even more feminine aspect than previous models.

This new model has a mechanical self-winding movement with a 42-hour power reserve and hour, minute, second and date indication. The small seconds dial and date are both located at 6 o'clock.

The J12-365 is available in eight variations: in white ceramic with steel or beige gold and with or without diamond inlay, or in black ceramic with steel or beige gold and with or without diamond inlay.

This new feminine timepiece will arrive in stores from June 2.
