Actress Nicole Kidman graced the opening of Omega’s Her Time exhibition, which marked her 10th anniversary celebration with the watchmaker.

With a longstanding tradition behind its prestigious name, Omega, together with brand ambassador Nicole Kidman, celebrated over 100 years of ladies’ watchmaking at the Palazzo del Ghiaccio. The event was not only a celebration of women, but also the launch of Omega’s Her Time exhibition in Milan.

In reflection of her personal relationship with time, the Oscar-winning actress, who named Italy her “second home and second favourite country in the world”, gave a short but heartfelt speech.

“There are many things you can buy in life but you can’t buy time,” she said. “It’s so precious. It’s important to cherish each moment and to stay in that moment. People say it goes fast, and it truly does.”

What’s truly precious to Omega president Stephen Urquhart, is Kidman’s 10th year anniversary with the brand. “The words ‘brand ambassador’ sound so technical,” he said of her. “Nicole is much more than that. She’s part of our family.”

She and other high-calibre guests including Italian actress Vittoria Puccini and actors Claudio Santamaria and Luca Calvani viewed the display of Omega’s archive of fine ladies’ watches, which included art deco creations and the now-iconic Ladymatic. No timepiece went unseen or unappreciated.

Kidman summed it up best: “In everything I’ve done with Omega, they have shown extraordinary integrity, and that’s important in this day and age. I’ve learned so much about the technology and history. They’ve adapted and evolved with the times. As you can see tonight, it’s truly unbelievable.”
