There’s little reason to resist when something in the shop window calls her name, luxury retail veteran Lindsay Nicholas confesses.

If a stylish blonde strikes up a conversation as you’re shopping in The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands, it could well be Lindsay Nicholas on the ground, sussing out feedback—just one of the many things she does as the mall’s executive director of retail marketing, including dreaming up unique events for shoppers.

Or, she could just be doing a spot of shopping—a temptation that comes with the territory, and one that she doesn’t always resist. “It’s hard to see something in the window and not go in to touch it, and when you touch it…” she laughs. Just the week before this interview, she’d picked up two Dolce & Gabbana dresses. “I also love Zara and love to go high-low. I’m very excited about Sandro opening in The Shoppes.” The chances of catching her looking less than immaculate are near zero; she’s almost always in heels, even on the weekend (“But for flats, Prada and Miu Miu are so comfortable”), and has her full face on even as she snuggles under her Hermès cashmere-silk scarf on flights.

With her degrees in fashion design from Parsons School of Design, image consulting from the Fashion Institute of Technology, and mass communications from Emerson College, she’s a triple threat for her role with The Shoppes and its 100-plus luxury brands—and a fully qualified fashionista.
