Expect a laid-back luxe look from Tods for Spring/Summer 2015

Famed for the sheer quality and perfect handcraftsmanship of everything they produce, from leather goods to the recently launched ready-to-wear, Tods has become synonymous with Italian luxury at its best.

Now presenting their Spring/Summer 2015 collection, the traditional focus of beautiful craftmanship mixed with stunning, unique contemporary design is ever present in Tods' range of shoes, bags and clothes, forming one of the most covetable collections to date.

Starting with the shoes, which are undoubtedly the stronghold of Tods' repertoire, this season sees a new addition to the classic design. Adding the 'spilla' or pin in English, this new addition which comes attached in a number of ways ranging from plain to adorned in rhinestones, adds a new dimension to the classic moccasin shoe. So too do additions like the full tassle in a variety of colour ways. For this collection, the espadrille reigns supreme with it taking on a whole new look with the classic Gommino sole. Named the Neo Espadrille, the espadrille rope runs around the shoe, meeting the Gommino sole at the bottom. In terms of fabrics, with luxury always at its core, you can expect classic calfskin, patent leather and metallic goatskin in a range of muted, classic hues.

Moving onto bags and this season, the bags mirror the patchwork and print-effect seen on the ready-to-wear collection. Print sees a welcome return to the bags as horticulture proves to be a main influence on the whole collection. With craftmanship at the core of Tods' ethos, this season the bags are also influenced by saddlery and in particular the complex techiniques used in manufacturing. With intricate, interesting folds and geometry, the Tod's Cape Bag encompases all these factors. With quality at its core, the bags are swathed in fabrics including calfskin, python and crocodile.

Last but not least comes the latest addition to Tods' rosta, the ready-to-wear collection. Inspired by the architecture of some of Italy's most famed gardens, the collection is fresh, exciting and graphic. With a sporty yet effortlessly feminine feel, patchwork and prints play a key part in the feel of the collection. Designed to look like 'leaves and branches woven into a net', the collection has a highly tactile, whimsical feel. At the core, is the focus on the biker jacket. Presented in a number of leather styles, the new slim fit is designed to represent day to day sophistication. With the horticulture inspiration running through the collection, colours include the more muted egg-shells, dark browns with sparks of jade and blues and fabrics range from cotton to nylon, helping create that all important shape and silhouette.
