Our favourite looks from the American designer’s 2015 resort collection.

Resort collections, more often than not, feature pieces that are perfect for a weekend jaunt or a casual day relaxing by the ocean — and Michael Kors' 2015 resort collection hits all the sweet spots. By reworking traditional cuts and colours, he's rolled out a collection comprising more polished garments. Here are three of our favourites:

Tatler's picks from Michael Kors Resort 2015

1. All White Ensemble

Jazz up an all-white canvas by playing with drapes and textures. Don't forget the accessories. Juxtapose a straw-woven bag and hat against a more formal tan leather belt and sandals. Shorts, sporting a longer hemline, add a carefree vibe to the ensemble. Just be careful when eating or drinking to avoid unsightly stains.

2. Pure Purple Fun

Knit tops don’t necessarily have to be frumpy and dull. This light purple number is refreshing, and the three-quarter sleeves lend a touch of modernity to an age-old staple. Tie-dye shorts may scream ‘hippie’, but add a belt and a pair of nice shoes – or even clogs – to it and ‘boho chic’ emerges. Round off the get-up with a more decorated reincarnation of the tote – a thick-strapped, leather bag adorned with playful embellishments.

3. Army of Flowers

Olive green might be a tad too reminiscent of the military, but by contrasting that with a peach-hued flowery top, it reminds one more of a day of romping about in lavender fields. Pleated sleeves and a giant untied bow on the blouse adds nuanced details to an otherwise dated look. Michael Kors' trademark leather sandals and satchel complete the ensemble.
