The designer known for designing expertly crafted minaudiéres has launched her collection for Fall 2014.

Following the company's move to Greenwich, Judith Leiber’s creative director Jana Matheson took inspiration from the Beat generation that resided in the area during the mid 1950s to early 1960s. This percolated into a collection that not only has beatnik characteristics, but also a more creatively thought-out process. We choose some of our favourite items from the collection.

1. Splattering crystals

Paint splattered minaudiére

Crystal beads on bags has been a staple of the brand. This season, they amp it up a notch. Paint splatters made up of crystals form the centrepiece of this clutch. Not only are the patterns intricate and geometrically sound, but they also represent the beatnik culture of abstract expressionism in art.

2. Barking mad fun

Chihuahua novelty bag

Novelty bags are a Judith Leiber signature, so it comes as no surprise that they are included in this collection. This spunky chihuahua-shaped minaudiére encrusted in crystals is quite the head turner. The best part? You don't have to clean up after it.

3. Homage to Monroe

Satin bow clutch

The name Marilyn Monroe immediately conjures up images of her iconic red lipstick, fluttering skirt and bow-crowned mini dress. Taking cues from her get-up, this satin bow bag promises heaps of fun and also adds an artful tinge of kitsch to your outfit for the day.
