Redefine summer cool with breezy and off-body ensembles.

Models backstage at Roberto Cavalli

Figure-flattering and body-conscious looks may always be a prevailing trend, but nothing beats a loosely fitted dress and sandals for the balmier months. Take cues from designers such as Clare Waight Keller at Chloé—who encapsulated the bohemian mood perfectly with a lust-worthy collection of soft silks billowing as models took the runway—or at Roberto Cavalli, where the first exits of the show further illustrated that loose-fit doesn’t necessarily mean conservative. Capture the spirit of summer with flowy frocks juxtaposed with accessories of the tougher sort—statement hardware and handheld bags, gladiator sandals or a pair of embellished sandals. Designers kept necklines very clean, too, which proves a tanned decolletage is all the accent you’ll need.

What’s in your wardrobe, Iroshini Chua?

I enjoy changing my style according to the occasion, destination and even my mood; I can be in a classic floral dress one day and an edgy number with knee-high gladiators the next. I’m currently loving ear cuffs, customised initial rings, gingham, Fendi mini baguettes and Delpozo apparel. My travels have built my confidence to wear what I want without feeling apologetic or over-dressed—on a recent trip to the Middle East, I didn’t think twice about taking to the sand dunes in a floor-length Oscar de la Renta silk kaftan.
