Menswear designers play up tailored looks with unexpected prints, casual materials and knits this Fall 2014 season.

Dior Homme

There’s much to be excited about for men this season as fashion houses inject a bit of creativity and whimsy into everyday work attire. Notably, Kris Van Assche at Dior Homme gives the traditional pinstripe suit a diverting makeover, with stripes covering only the central portion of the jacket and trousers. He’s also done away with traditional waistcoats, replacing them with denim hunting vests.

Meanwhile, Salvatore Ferragamo turns sweater dressing inside-out, layering knitwear on top of tailored jackets. In the men’s accessories arena, newly launched label Bertrand Mak combines an unusual forest green with a light-grey lizard skin on a pair of lace-ups, while Bottega Veneta works with nylon and 3D printing to recreate its signature weave on bags.
