The Lebanese couturier showed off his latest batch of red carpet ready delights in Paris.

At his show on rue Cambon (up the street from the famous flagship boutique founded by Coco Chanel), Elie Saab did what he does best: stunningly embroidered and highly worked fabrics in classic shapes, ready to take the lucky ladies who buy his couture pieces from state dinners to movie premieres.

A set packed with hanging crystal chandeliers shifted the lighting through different moods, while models unveiled a collection inspired by lavish interiors in the City of Light. Key themes included shining pearls and gems, a pointillist print on silk, and floral embroidery inspired by the arabesques on stately murals.

There was more embroidery concealed on this inside of pieces, an added luxe touch designed to highlight the intimacy of these clothes for the women wearing and buying them. Colours stuck well within Saab's usual universe (coppers and pinks adding warmth to the cool blues and indigos) with a dégradé effect cropping up on some pieces. Sweet accessories touches included a stunning enamel and perspex cuff.
