Patchwork leather panelling and voluminous silhouettes were on show as Italian label Fendi unveiled its womenswear Autumn/Winter 2015/16 collection during Milan Fashion Week.

Creative director Karl Lagerfeld played with proportions through a series of stiff pinafore dresses and tunics, long coats and voluminous quilted jackets. Leather, suede and fur were the staple fabrics of the collection, with pieces often adorned with all three, in the form of contrasting cuffs, pockets or fringing. The rigid lines were softened by a series of fleecy floor-length coats and puffa-style dresses with deep pockets and toggle details offering a casual twist on eveningwear. Fur boots and handbags kept the aesthetic luxe, while leather headbands added a youthful element. Color blocking between whites and creams allowed the textures to speak volumes about the collection's initial pieces, with later outfits moving into a 60s and 70s vibe with contrasting brick reds and browns and blacks. Two-tone panelled boots kept things consistent and elbow-length gloves added a serious dash of glamour.
