Once again this year, a number of fashion campaigns set the web abuzz -- whether thanks to in-vogue models, celebrity brand ambassadors, famous photographers or controversial images. Here is a recap of some of the campaigns that left their mark on 2014.

David Sims for Bottega Veneta
As part of its 'The Art of Collaboration' series, which aims to highlight the talent of different contemporary photographers, Bottega Veneta called in British photographer David Sims, who shot supermodel Edie Campbell for the Fall-Winter 2014-2015 campaign. In previous seasons, Pieter Hugo, Peter Lindbergh, Collier Schorr, Nan Goldin and Annie Leibovitz have shared their vision with the Italian brand.

Pharrell Williams and Cara Delevingne for Chanel
Directed by Karl Lagerfeld for the latest Chanel Métiers d'Art show, the highly anticipated short film "Reincarnation" featured two of the trendiest celebrities of 2014: Cara Delevingne and Pharrell Williams. The British model and it girl played a waitress, while the American music producer and man of the moment played a bell hop. Geraldine Chaplin and Baptiste Giabiconi also appear in the short.

Madonna for Versace
After recruiting Lady Gaga in 2013, the Italian fashion house decided to honor a page from its history by naming Madonna as the face of the Spring-Summer 2015 collection. The first images from this fourth partnership between Versace and the pop queen were revealed in early December. Shot by the famous fashion photography duo Mert Alas & Marcus Piggott, the campaign -- in black and white -- shows Madonna looking determined, sensual and more youthful than ever.

Julia Roberts for Givenchy
The final months of 2014 brought us plenty of fashion news, but one announcement seems to have sparked more buzz than any other: that of Julia Roberts as Givenchy's latest spokesmodel. At age 47, the actress and producer is the face of the luxury brand's Spring-Summer 2015 collection. The first photos, revealed on social networks in early December, show the "Pretty Woman" star wearing a very androgynous look, with a black tuxedo jacket, a shirt with a contrasting white collar, and minimal makeup.
