A festival for film, but also fashion, every year Cannes sees some of the most gorgeous designer creations walk the red carpet and highlight the season's trends. This year was no exception: a look at some of the most beautiful outfits from the Cannes Film Festival.

Lupita Nyong'o
The magnificent actress and director was a hit from the very beginning of this 68th edition, whirling this pastel green gown by Gucci down the red carpet of the Palais des Festivals. Definitely one of the favorites of the fortnight.

Viann Zhang
The Chinese supermodel opted for an impressive gown with a train that wasn’t unanimously adored, but she does get points for daring. Two prints were used for this creation, in green and red, the whole decorated with flowers.

Fan Bingbing
Chinese actress Fan Bingbing enchanted the red carpet with her bucolic gown from Marchesa’s spring 2015 collection. Grey tulle, embroidered flowers and puffy sleeves perfectly showed off the young actress.

Cate Blanchett
Another creation that marked the fortnight: the Australian actress’s gown, straight out of a dream. Captivating, the actress dared to don this imposing gown from the Giles fall 2015 collection for her walk up the steps to present “Carol.”

Araya Hargate
Like a Princess, the Thai actress and L’Oréal Paris muse walked the red carpet along the Croisette in the most romantic outfit ever. This striking dove-grey (one of the festival’s most popular colors) dress by Ashi Studio Couture was covered in fine embroidering and feathers that added all the glamor necessary for such an event.

Aishwarya Rai
The sublime Indian actress was the center of attention when she took to the red carpet along the Croisette in her flowing grey design by Ralph & Russo Couture. The gown was decorated with numerous couture details, such as crystals and feathers.

Erin O'Connor
Also the object of heavy critique, the British supermodel’s Ralph & Russo gown was quite a gamble. The same colour as the carpet she walked, this “gift box” design nonetheless fit her perfectly.

Mélanie Laurent
Gorgeous as always, the French actress, in a sparkling Zuhair Murad Couture gown, was resplendent and worthy of the crowd’s adoration.

Shu Qi
The Taiwanese actress went for a romantic look with this long embroidered gown, with seemingly transparent areas, especially around the neckline.

Marion Cotillard
Marion Cotillard turned to her beloved Dior for the screening of 'The Little Prince'. The minimalist fitted black and blue off-the-shoulder design showcased her collarbone and shoulders, while a slashed front revealed a hint of leg.
