Berluti prides tself on designing practical yet stylish shoes for the dapper man inclined to such vigorous pursuits as skiing, cycling, polo, or hiking. It is no surprise, then, that they have broadened their range to include golf shoes in their impressive arsenal of footwear. This month, discover their first ever ready-to-wear golfing kicks named 'Swing'. The shoes fuse the brand's trademark wearability with acme of best technology.

The creation of the shoe started entirely from scratch. A new last was made, suitably named after the Scottish town of St Andrews where the sport first sank its roots. Berluti's signature sophistication is embodied by the Swing's two-toned palette of osso and gold, or vermillion and indigo denim, complemented by a glossy patina finish. Brogue-style patterns and a removable fringed lace cover,in the house's symbolic Venezia leather, also form part of the shoe.

As with golf, the trick to having a successful Swing is definitely the sole, and Berluti's Swing will not disappoint in this aspect. The outsole combines rubber with leather inserts with spikes that are specially engineered and emblazoned with a 'B' for the best traction on the field. The spikes are removable with a key and can be replaced with flat ones. Should the wearer feel the need to enter the clubhouse without the fuss of changing his shoes, he can now do so easily.

Technical details are not spared, such as the Swing's shock-absorbent foam-lined interior, which is enhanced with a lightweight carbon insert for strength and stability. The kangaroo leather of the upper is backed with a breathable waterproof membrane, while a fine layer of foam between the upper and the lining provides extra cushioning.
