Here's what to expect when Louis Vuitton opens its first Island Maison in Singapore in September

We'll have to wait a couple more months before Louis Vuitton officially throws open the doors to its first Island Maison at the Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands, but for now, here's a glimpse of what you can expect. Designed by internationally acclaimed architect Peter Marino, this haven of luxury housed in the glass pavillion features nautical inspired interiors and will be a space for visitors to make their own discoveries. It marks a milestone as being the first Maison in Southeast Asia, and will not just house fashion but also incorporate art and cultural elements, offering a refined, holistic experience for the curious traveller.

The ground floor will feature a complete selection of men's and women's leather goods, ready to wear, shoes and accessories, while the mezzanine level will be a space dedicated to travel luggage and accessories in the first Travel Room in Asia Pacific. Taking the nautical theme even further is an outdoor loggia reminiscent of a luxury yacht deck.

The journey isn't quite restricted to the island itself, as the tunnel that connects it to the mall also offers sights along the way. Visitors travelling through the tunnel will be able to view pieces of contemporary artwork, before it leads them to the Louis Vuitton bookstore where they can browse through a specially curated range of design, cultural and art books. Suffice to say, we'll be holding our breaths until the Island Maison opens to the public on September 18.
