The September school holidays are coming up, and if you are taking the little ones away for a holiday or attending parties, then these high-end ready-to-wear brands have thought of everything from garments to accessories like jewellery and shoes. A look at some of the best autumn/winter collections for the young set.

Little Marc Jacobs

This season the brand evokes a playful spirit of adventure with a 2015-2016 Autumn/Winter collection for kids aged 0 to14 years old, inspired by the world of the circus. Boys are transformed into globe-trotters with prints that reference the circus and space in a mix of different materials (cotton, felt, fleece, leather and denim). Girls also get separates inspired by the circus theme but in a more delicate fashion with the use of traditional colors like red, blue and navy, floral and leopard prints and sequins. Young girls will also be able to dress in snake-skin sneakers recalling the designer's famed mouse flats.

DKNY kids Autumn/Winter 2015

DKNY stays true to its usual urban style with its kids collection reflecting the casual style of places like Williamsburg and Brooklyn. Designed for children from 6 months to 16 years old, the collection contains timeless pieces that have a slightly "vintage" feel. Girls can choose from t-shirts with messages, a leather biker jacket, plaid pants and gauze skirts. For boys, the trend includes turtleneck pullovers, dark denim, sleeveless padded jackets and blue chinos.

Chloé kids Autumn/Winter 2015

Elegant but comfortable could be the slogan for the latest kids collection of the Chloé fashion house. The urban look of a young Chloé girl is characterised by pure and soft lines as well as strong contrasts. The resulting style combines soft powdered pink with red and polar blue with mottled grey. The collection includes frill-skirt silk crepe dresses, geometric detailed sweatshirts, embroidered blouses, feather-down jackets, faux-fur vests and moonboots. Rhinestones and sequins are also used but only in discreet touches.

Burberry kids Autumn/Winter 2015

The British fashion house focuses this Autumn on timeless and classic pieces with a touch of rock, especially for little girls. Print dresses, frilled or with colored lace, skinny jeans and classic or fringed wool capes, bomber or biker jackets are among the pieces available for girls. Boys can dress in graphic t-shirts, suit pants, chinos, polos, rain and down jackets. The iconic Burberry trench is also a staple piece of the collection.

Tommy Hilfiger kids Autumn/Winter 2015

The new "F.A.M.E." collection is inspired by the fusion between the world of film, music, art and entertainment. The theme gives way to several distinct styles: retro glamour, 70s urban pop and British rock inspired. Each style also gets the brand's signature preppy touch. The resulting pieces feature jacquard prints, polka dots, animal print, graphic t-shirts, touches of sequins, chinos, joggings, denim and faux-fur.
