Nothing too heady, nothing too heavy - we have the best summer-ready scents right here.

Summer really is here, which means big changes in the beauty department, especially when it comes to scents. Gone are the rainy days which called for the heavier oud-based aromas and here are the long, hot and humid days, crying out for something light and refreshing. So, with that in mind, we bring you three of the best scents for Summer.

Tom Ford Fleur De Portofino

Just the name of this divine scent has us imagining long, sun-filled days, spent in white linens with the waves lapping at our feet. Which is good really, considering the Sicilian influence of this scent. Opening with crisp, citrus notes from the Sicilian lemons and Sorrento mandarins, it moves on to a sweeter, more floral tone, thanks to the white acacia blossom and heady jasmine. Of course it wouldn't be a Tom Ford fragrance without something unexpected, and that's where the white vanilla absolute and Tolu balsam come in and add some unexpected, but very welcome warmth and serious lingering sensuality.

Estee Lauder Pleasures Florals

Why are the best things in life always the hardest to get hold of? Floral yet smooth, this new scent from Estee Lauder is, you guessed it, limited-edition, meaning if you like the sound of it, you had better be quick. So what's it like? Well, it's citrus enough to be refreshing thanks to Naartjie mandarin and lemons, it's got a hint of floral thanks to jasmine sambac and water lily and last but not least, it's smooth and sexy thanks to cedarwood, ambrox and a very delicate, but very definite musk.

Chanel Eau Vive

Bursting with fresh, fruity scents, Chanel Chance Eau Vive marks the very first scent created by master perfumer, Olivier Polge. Light, effortless but full of vitality, this unique scent starts off with a fresh fruit tone of grapefruit, blood orange and other citrus notes, before you reach the more floral jasmine and white musk to balance the sweet tones perfectly, before finishing with the more heady, deep tones of cedar-iris and fresh vetiver.
