With New Year just around the corner, we ask five of Singapore social stalwarts what their resolutions for 2015 will be.

With each new year comes the inevitable flurry of excitement. The chance to ring in the new year and to promise that this year will be different to the last. So if you are having troubles finalising that new years resolutions list, help is at hand as ask five of Singapore's most prominent ladies what their new years resolutions are.

Paige Parker

"In 2015, I shall stop using excessive exclamation points in my emails, Whatsapp, text messages, FB posts, Instagram, et al. (!)  I shall improve in tennis, piano and ballet.  I shall be a better mother, wife, daughter, friend, fundraiser, supporter, et al.  I will walk my dog Bella more.  I will reign in my expenses.  I will drink more water.  I will read more.  I will apologise when I am wrong.  I will finish writing my book (or at least spend more time on it!) And most importantly: I will aim to set an example so that my daughters will be happy, curious and eager to find ways to fulfil themselves. My husband Jim says kudos on the last one, and he will too!"

Audrey Mico

"One of my few New Year resolutions I would like to achieve is to lead a healthier life style, to have the right diet, exercise more and lose some weight. To manage this, I will have to be disciplined to work out at the gym three times a week, drink water instead of sweetened drinks and eat less carbohydrates. The next resolution is to improve on my new business venture and make it more successful next year! Put forward an advertising and promotion plan and do not procrastinate in implementing it. The third resolution is to reflect back on 2014 and give back to society by doing more for the less fortunate in 2015. To achieve this, I will spend more time with them by going for home visits and giving donations whenever possible and to do my part in any other way to make the world a better place."

"My New Year’s resolution is to learn something new every year. I feel as we grow older it is important to keep vibrant by learning something that will push new limits. If we are not keeping up in this fast paced world you are being left behind. This year I have my eye on learning a water sport, perhaps to scuba dive or learning to sail. Sunny Singapore offers warm waters all year round as well as easy getaways where I hope to enjoy my new skill."

Tang Wen Li

"This year I would like to work on being more disciplined when it comes to my work/ life balance. I am also going to work on simplifying my life by clearing clutter, be it physical, emotional or mental. 2015 will also be a time for me to savour my children at this their cutest (but most exhausting) time of their lives. I also aim to make this year significant and to make time for those who are the most important in my life."

Jade Kua

'My new year's resolution is to spend more time with my kids doing craftwork, as they truly enjoy this. I admire how the older girls take apart their clothes and reinvent them and the younger toddlers turn blank canvasses into astonishing paintings. I've resolved to join this merry gang and perhaps one day I will wear something I've sewn or made to a Tatler party! I will try to emulate my mother-in-law, who's mantra is to bring new life to old fabric and basically, recycle everything else. Finally, I'm going to take more interest in tending to my husband's little sky garden which boasts a healthy crop of herbs and spices which I've thus far only consumed but never cultivated."
