She lives and breathes fashion, and the anticipation is always high for what she’ll turn up in at the next event.

She’s loved for…her fashion daring
Drama or pyjamas—that’s Susanna Kang’s mantra. Only this eternally chic social stalwart could pull off a high Mohawk while seated front-row at a Chanel runway show. Or be able to conceal a second red-hot gown underneath an elaborate frosty blue creation, ready for its mid-soiree reveal at last year’s Singapore Tatler Ball themed Fire and Ice. It’s no wonder that the invites keep piling in: when Susanna turns up, she dresses up. “It’s simply my way of showing appreciation to the host for the invitation.

“It’s not about being the belle of the ball, but I want others to see that I’m making an effort and feel motivated to do the same at the next party.” The charity gala veteran’s confidence is so infectious that she makes it a point to get her fellow invitees equally hyped: “If there’s a Best Dressed Table prize to be won, I’ll convince my tablemates to dress to the theme or say, wear a crazy hat with me!”

The fashion lover is the epitome of rarefied personal style, complemented by a self-deprecating sense of humour. “I have to tuck myself into the car all the time because I love wearing huge fluffy dresses,” says Susanna. “I just want to have a blast!”
