She’s both the perfect host and gracious guest. Nana Au-Chua’s ever‑growing social circle is a result of her charitable ways and genial persona.

She’s loved for… her charitable heart
Nana Au-Chua has a confession to make: she doesn’t know how to say no. The COO of Million Lighting, the lighting company headed by husband Edwin, is a champion of charity who has raised funds for initiatives and organisations such as the Garden City Fund, Kidz Horizon Appeal, Bone Marrow Donor Programme and the National Gallery Singapore. “I like to be of service to others and make a difference in their lives.” This year, however, she admits to have overbooked herself with fundraising projects. “I felt the workload and pressure building up.”

Friends have noticed Nana’s prowess, and have come to her for help when they want to support a cause but don’t know where to start. Her tactful candour and peace‑loving character have also made her well-loved by others. “At work, my husband usually defers to me when there’s a client we need to pacify.” The supermum has been donating privately since she started earning her own keep at age 21, and credits her big-hearted father Au Ba Chi as a big influence: “My father was a very giving person and contributed a lot to society. I’d like to think that I inherited this trait from him.”
