A historic european-style church an hour’s drive from central Bangkok, four suitcases full of designer outfits, over a dozen security guards, and millions of dollars worth of Cartier jewels—this month’s cover shoot was quite the production, to say the least. But it was all worth it, what with getting to work once again with the reigning fashion chameleon Susanna Kang and for the very first time, the graceful Caroline The. The two have known each other since secondary school but it was only until later in adulthood were they reintroduced by their husbands and have been great friends ever since.
Fast forward to today, the two of them have gone on countless family outings and trips, have been spotted together at quite a few glamorous soirees around town, and for this shoot, are seen flexing their fashion muscles as a stunning tag team. What are girlfriends for if not to get dolled up, dressed up and cheer each other on at a glamorous photo shoot?
Shot at Bangkok’s Benedict Studio, the full-day affair saw the ladies exaggerate their personal styles in next season’s threads by Dior, Dolce & Gabbana, Donna Karan, Burberry and one of Thailand’s hottest designers, Hook’s by Prapakas. For Caroline, the look was fiercely feminine and for Susanna, beautiful drama that calls for a double take—can you spot the matte black traditional Thai accoutrements? But even if their sartorial leanings and personalities seem pretty opposite, they have one sure thing in common: good taste in jewellery. Cartier, to be exact.
