As the definitive guide on the who’s who of the interior design world, the Andrew Martin International Interior Designer of the Year Award & Interior Design Review showcases the world’s most outstanding designers with Design Intervention being the only Singaporean firm included for its 18th edition.

The highly coveted Andrew Martin
International Interior Designer or the Year Award & Interior Design Review features the best designers from around the world, bringing the winning designers together in an interior design directory. Each year the Andrew Martin Interior Designer of the Year Award attracts global entries from interior designers who submit their portfolio of their best work to be judged by a distinguished panel. Panellists include respected figures, such as Jo Malone, Terry O’Neil, A A Gill and the Duchess of York.

The award, established in 1996, has become the pinnacle of the interior design industry and touted by the media as “The Oscars for the interior design world”. The best works from the entrants are also published in the influential Interior Design Review book.

Highlight Of The Latest Edition
Now in its 18th volume, the annual Interior Design Review showcases well known designer names across the world, including Kelly Hoppen, Kate Kingston and Patrick Tyberghein.

However, from this illustrious list, one name may stand out for many local homeowners. As the sole Singapore-based interior designer Nikki Hunt, along with her firm Design Intervention, is part of the latest review. For Hunt, this is a prestigious accolade and confirms her standing as a world-class interior designer.

Glory For Local Design
This is the second time that Hunt and Design Intervention have been featured in the review, making it especially memorable for her and the team. Established by Hunt in 2004, Design Intervention consists of an international team of 24 designers hailing from 12 different nationalities. Internationally, the firm is recognised for its tailor-made designs and high level of attention to detail.

Under Hunt’s creative vision, along with business partner Andrea Savage, the firm has gone on to clinch several awards, such as the five star award for Best in Interior Design (Private Residence, Singapore) at the Asia Pacific Pacific Property Awards. A well respected figure in the design scene, Savage has had her works extensively featured in the media. She is also a recurring Judge on the Star World Reality Design TV show, The Apartment. She stars alongside celebrity designer judges, Australia’s Jamie Durie and the UK’s Laurence Bowen.

For Hunt and her team, the inclusion in the Andrew Martin Interior Design Review is not only an achievement for the firm but an ongoing inspiration for them to excel. And with the design scenes booming in Singapore and across the cities in Southeast Asia, Design Intervention looks set to take on greater challenges in its stride.
