If you’ve ever vacationed at Ayana Resort and Spa and found yourself wishing you never had to leave, the upcoming Ayana Residences Bali might just be the answer.

Lauded as Bali’s most exclusive residential development, Ayana Residences Bali will be comprised of 115 units of luxury apartments and villas within a 77-hectare area. Spread along a 1.3km coastline in Jimbaran, the residences have been designed by the same firms behind the resort, so you can expect the same brand of luxuriously-appointed, modern resort living.

The units in the low-density development include three-bedroom penthouse suites (up to 699 sq); two-bedroom suites (up to 352sqm); and one-bedroom suites (up to 131sqm). In addition to the top floor penthouses, there are also ground floor penthouses with private swimming pools. The first suites are scheduled for completion by early 2013.

Architectural firm, WATG, based its design on the gardens of Bali found in temples, terraces, and traditional courtyard homes, using locally sourced materials throughout the gardens and buildings. Reaping the full benefits of its context in a prized parcel of real estate, seamless transitions are created between indoor and outdoor living spaces. Think elements like stone-lined pools, rough stone garden walls, natural wood trellises, floor-to-ceiling windows, and large, open living areas.

In keeping with the resort's eco certification, much thought has also been given to sustainability, and the sprawling botanical gardens designed by St. Legére Design International incorporates a bamboo plantation to collect rainwater for irrigation, as well as a composting area and fruit and vegetable garden.

Ayana Residences also has its own Club House, including a 25-metre lap pool; recreational swimming pool; café and bar; 10-seat cinema; fitness centre; jogging trails; and concierge service. And of course, having a key to to the residences also grants you access to the facilities of the adjacent Ayana Resort and Spa Bali – that's seven restaurants; the iconic Rock Bar; and the Thermes Marins Bali Spa, all at your doorstep
