Being the head honcho of a company comes with big responsibilities, but the pressure is amplified when you are leading a start-up. “I have to constantly wear multiple hats in various functional departments and I'm expected to perform effectively in all of them,” says David Pong, a co-founder and CEO of social enterprise Wateroam. The 27-year-old takes a leaf out of British business magnate and philanthropist Richard Branson’s book—“I’ve learnt that unless we dare to try, we’ll never know what we can achieve.” And he does this with good time management and a just‑do-it mentality. As such, the bigger purpose of his work adds to his life, and with Wateroam, he “hopes to show the world a small nation like ours has a big heart with the capacity to bring about global change”.
