With every runway show, there is an abundance of reviews by fashion editors, industry insiders, tastemakers, bloggers—everyone has something to say about it.
At Tatler HQ, we realised that there’s one key point-of-view missing: the people whose wardrobes the collection will eventually make its way into.

So we put a plan in action. Singapore Tatler fashion director Desmond Lim rang up a couple of our Singapore Tatler friends: the ultra-cool Dawn Koh, co-owner of cake company Chalk Farm and her mum Ginny Koh, a retired executive in the luxury fashion and jewellery industry. Then we threw ourselves a little fashion soiree in the Fendi boutique.

It’s a heady mix of fashion conversations and dressing room moves, and it also casts a new light on this collection. One might be aware of Karl Lagerfeld’s and Silvia Venturini Fendi’s inspirations and references but the true genius of the Fendi spring/summer 2017 collection is how it appeals to different generations and vastly diverse style aesthetics. Dawn has a daring cool-girl approach to fashion while Ginny's sensibilities lean towards classic and ladylike, yet both fell head-over-sock-heels over multiple pieces on the racks. And of course, they walked out of the store with something they both adore…
