When news first dropped in late 2015 that Dover Street Market (DSM) was about to open up a branch in Singapore, we were thrilled. After all, the multi-label store is known for its quirky designer collaborations and great visual merchandising. Plus, we seldom ever left the Tokyo and London stores empty-handed.
Ahead of its official opening tomorrow on July 29, we got a sneak peek inside.
Here's what you need to know.
Celine will also have a pop-up space here for the next six months, and you'll only be able to purchase the store-exclusive cabas bag (picture above) here.
None Of The Visual Displays Are Permanent
The most important thing that sets apart Dover Street Market from any other multi-label boutique? It’s highly creative visual displays where each brand is given a section to create a set up that allows customers to be fully immersed into the brand.
There is a catch though. None of the displays are permanent and will change every six months. The constantly evolving space makes it a must-see shopping destination for avid fashion tourists. Even if you don’t purchase anything, you won’t be able to leave without first exploring every single nook and cranny.

The Brands Are Curated By Rei Kawakubo
The store houses a plethora of fashion brands from avant garde labels like Ann Demeulemeester, Rick Owens, Jacquemues alongside high end luxury brands like Givenchy, Gosha, the entire Comme des Garçons range as well as special exclusives to the store and country. There are no set criteria as to the brands the store carries apart from one key trait—every brand has to have a strong vision and distinct originality.
This Is DSM's 4th Outlet Worldwide
Already with stores in New York, Tokyo, London and a collaborative effort with retail giant I.T to form a franchise called I.T Beijing Market, the Singapore would be the fourth destination for Dover Street Market.
P.S.: Here's a quick look at what some of the other DSM stores around the world look like.
The DSM Singapore store is located at Block 18 Dempsey Road (Tanglin Village) and it opens this Saturday July 29, 2017, from 11am.
