In 2014, when Bulgari celebrated its 130th anniversary, CEO Jean-Christophe Babin decided to undertake a massive restoration project for the iconic Spanish Steps. He said: “We commemorated the 130th anniversary of the Maison by adopting this marvellous jewel of baroque architecture.”
Bulgari donated €1.5m to Roma Capitale and the restoration work began in October 7, 2015. Fast forward to today, locals and tourists are able to marvel at the magnificent landmark again.
“We are delighted to celebrate with the city the return of a monument which once again in its splendour represents the grandeur of Rome,” commented Babin. “For Bulgari, the Steps are indissolubly linked to the identity of the Maison and will always be associated with joy and glamour. We hope to be able to collaborate with Roma Capitale on other projects in the future, to continue to preserve and enhance the ineffable beauty that this unique city has to offer the world.”
