More than 700 guests including guest-of-honour minister Ong Ye Kung attended this year's SingHealth Duke-NUS Gala Dinner, which took place at The Ritz-Carlton, Millenia Singapore in September. In the two years leading up to it, starting from September 2015, more than $32.5m has been raised for the SingHealth Duke-NUS Academic Medical Centre (AMC), which comprises health institutions dedicated to medical education and research and improving patient care. Private donations contributed greatly to the total amount raised, with several donors including revered cardiologist Dr Charles Toh, the Tanoto Foundation and Goh Foundation presenting cheques amounting $1m and above each to the AMC at the dinner.
