Glasses were raised to the philanthropic efforts of family foundations as the Lien Foundation and Tan Chin Tuan Foundation were honoured for their outstanding contributions to society at Singapore Tatler’s Celebration of Community Service Luncheon.
Supported by British Private Bank Coutts for the third year running, the event saw Laurence Lien, Chairman of the Lien Foundation and Chew Gek Hiang, Council Member of the Tan Chin Tuan Foundation receive specially-commissioned replicas of artefacts from the Coutts archive, including a cheque issued to English novelist Charles Dickens and a handwritten letter by Florence Nightingale, the founder of modern nursing.
The event also featured a panel discussion facilitated by Maya Prabhu, Managing Director of the Coutts Institute, with Laurence and Gek Hiang sharing their experiences and insights on family giving.
