Art collective Chim Pom with Barry Stowe, Lawrence Wong and David Ciclitira

The second edition of Prudential Eye Awards in January saw 18 of Asia’s most promising artists vying for the title of Emerging Artist of the Year, which went to Japanese art collective Chim Pom. The awards ceremony at Sands Theatre in Marina Bay Sands and the pre-awards cocktail at the ArtScience Museum—where an exhibition of the shortlisted artists’ works is currently on show—saw the who’s who in the art world in attendance. Other winners included Singaporean artist Donna Ong in the installation category, while Chinese artist Gu Wenda received the Lifetime Achievement Award.
