American poet Ralph Waldo Emerson once enthused, “Earth laughs in flowers”. This was evident at the Floral Designers Society Singapore (FDSS)’s Dream Ball, which took place at Shangri-La Hotel, Singapore in April. From the 800 stalks of gerberas that made up a breathtaking backdrop for photos, to a visually stunning runway show of floral creations and dresses by local and international floral designers, the ball celebrated the art of floristry in great proportions. Guests came in their best rouge outfits and were treated to Chinese fusion cuisine. A bottle of red wine was also placed on each table as an item up for bids in the evening’s silent auction. The proceeds will go towards the FDSS Education Fund.
