The John Jacob Ballroom of The St. Regis Singapore was awash in a sea of red and white for the occasion that was the Singapore Symphony Orchestra’s (SSO) annual benefit dinner in April. Kicking off the festivities, SSO chairman Goh Yew Lin highlighted the national orchestra’s achievements over the past year and thanked its supporters, before he presented the SSO Benefactor Award 2015—which honours cumulative contributions of more than $1m—to Christopher and Rosy Ho. The evening’s highlight, of course, was the SSO, led by associate conductor Joshua Tan, and they were later joined by acclaimed Broadway singer Erin Cornell, who gave a moving performance of some of the world’s greatest musical hits. The ball raised more than $800,000.
