The lobby of The Fullerton Bay Hotel Singapore was abuzz as guests were at The Clifford Pier to offer their congratulations to Melvin Soh and Kazuha Kondo on their marriage. During the celebration, a cultural Japanese dance was performed by Manjushaka, and first course of king salmon confit was served. In a nod to Japanese culture, the bridal couple took to the stage for the kagami-biraki ceremony—breaking open a barrel of sake to signify the bringing in of harmony and good fortune. The delicious sake was then served to all guests, along with glasses of bordeaux from Chateau Palmer Margaux 1979, which was a vintage bearing Melvin’s birth year and from the cellars of his late father. Mother of the groom, Lotus Soh, then took to the stage to serenade the couple with three songs.
