A fixture in the annual social calendar, the SNOW Gala 2017 (short for "Say No to the Oppression of Women") brought together society's best along with socially-engaged individuals of all stripes for an enjoyable night of empowerment and positivity. The 12th edition of the charity event, which raises funds for the important initiatives of the Singapore Committee for UN Women,  welcomed Guest of Honour Mr Ong Ye Kung, Minister for Education (Higher Education and Skills) and Second Minister for Defence, who delivered a moving speech about ensuring the continuous progress of women from all walks of life.

Guests embraced this year's theme Be Iconic, which saw attendees arrive dressed as Cleopatra, Frida Kahlo, as well as Audrey Hepburn in Breakfast at Tiffany's. The chosen theme aimed to celebrate the icons who have paved the way for the rights enjoyed by many today, and to encourage others to act until true equality is acheived. As is tradition, a silent auction and an exciting live auction ensued while guests enjoyed a special meal crafted by chef Ivan Brehm of Restaurant Nouri
