Trust this design-obssessed brand to make the removal of its construction barricades outside its Apple Orchard Store an event in itself. While the store facade at Knightsbridge is still covered, there are some intriguing  design elements on it right now that are pretty good teasers for what an Apple Store experience will be like here when the store opens later this month.

There's a series of icons riffing off the main "Apple Loves The Little Red Dot" graphic, that announces the 12 local creatives who will be conducting "Today at Apple" sessions at the store when it's up and running. These sessions are a new initiative that will be available at Apple stores world-wide, and they are part of the brand's plan to turn their stores into vibrant town squares where people can learn skills such as photography, music, coding and art.

Aik Beng Chia
This well-known street photographer documents everyday life Singapore, shooting everything from heartland scenes to election rallies. Check out his work here


Anthony Chen

This film-maker's first feature film, Ilo Ilo, won the prestigious Camera d'Or prize at the 2013 Cannes Film Festival, and Best Film and Best New Director at the 50th Golden Horse Awards. His boutique film company Giraffe Pictures nurtures emerging filmmakers in Asia.


Boo Junfeng

This film-maker won critical acclaim for his 2016 feature film, Apprentice, which garnered a standing ovation after its screening at the Un Certain Regard section of the 2016 Cannes Film Festival. Find out more about him here.

This musician, singer and songwriter is the first Singapore artist to be listed on the inaugural Forbes 30 Under 30 list for entertainment and sports personalities in Asia.


Kristal Melson

This award-winning illustrator has created images for publications and brands, and also customises sneakers.


Marc Hardy
This developer created RunSocial, a fitness app that uses high-definition videos to create a virtual running experience that makes that treadmill routine much more interesting.  



This musician, singer, songwriter was the winner of Singapore Idol 3 in 2009, and will be performing at Apple Orchard Road from 5pm to 6.30pm on May 27.
